Copyrite

Hi Guys, just a reminder, if you are reproducing a recipe here - from somewhere else on the internet or from a recipe book, you need to credit the author. - Otherwise you get into a grey area of plagiarism. Even if it is just copied from another website, you still need to credit the source. Sorry to be a Grinch.

Not a grinch, Mrs. X. You are very correct and I have been remiss in allowing them without the proper attribution.

ETA: I liked what this food blogger had to say: http://foodblogalliance.com/a/recipe-attribution/

To make the copyright laws a little more clear:

Lists of ingredients cannot be copyright protected.

Instructions and methods beyond simple facts are copyright protected and should not be copied and pasted. Images are copyrighted and must be attributed to its publisher.

What if you have a recipe but you changed it up some, does that count as copy right infringement?

I think you are best to say "based on".

However, if it really is completely different (Started off as an orange cake, and is now chocolate slice), that probably qualifies as a different recipe. :D
