tales from retail

Anyone have current or old stories from retail jobs? Feel free to share.

A blast from my past:

BG: I took German in high school & got to travel to Germany for a few weeks.

I worked in Fast Food restaurant and we had some U. S. service men come in and speak German to one of my co-workers (). She instantly got me and....well....even though they'd been stationed in Germany for years they gave up trying to place their orders in German as they couldn't even answer what sizes they wanted.

A different time a man came in with a cute little boy, who was obliviously shy. (I went ga-ga over the kid). The dad told me he (the boy) didn't speak English. As they left the little boy told me "goodbye" in German & I answered "Later" in German. His face lit up - dad looked astounded.
