Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

I totally get that it can never be enforced, and that it's ridiculous. I'm just not sure I'd say that he should be "embarrassed" to sign it. I mean, even though the chance of winning is practically...

Re: "child" custody & "adult" child

I celebrate Bastille Day with my kids, but it was a...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

Because his new wife wants to exert her power and he wants her off his back. I'm not sure why he would be embarrassed to sign it?

When my DH and I were newlyweds, his mom did...

Re: Tahini

Hummus and baba ganoush. I don't have recipes for them, but that's what I would use the tahini for.

Re: "child" custody & "adult" child

One of my friends volunteers for a local homeless shelter which feeds people on Thanksgiving on her "off" years (when her kids go to their spouses' families). I plan on doing that as soon as my kids...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

If it were me, I wouldn't let them know they hurt me. I'm stubborn that way. If they are trying to hurt you, then I wouldn't let them know they succeeded. That will give your DIL more power.

Re: Dr apts. responsibility

I started scheduling my own appointments in college because I went to the student health center.

My kids schedule their own dentist appointments, but that's because the dentist office sets up the...

Re: U.S. Open

I'm sure she will be back. But there will only ever be one "first". :(

I don't know enough about tennis rules to know if Serena had a valid point or not as far as the disparity between judging...

Re: Finding my dog a new home

That's so sad. I'm sorry Jessspin01. :(

Is your uncle willing to let you stay there for a little longer? It sounds to me like the first thing you ought to do is find the new job, then find the...

Re: When a dear friend leaves you and you don't understand why

Mr Eko, how long have you and this person been friends? Is this the same person that you posted about that was upset because the two of you had a difference of opinion?

Re: When a dear friend leaves you and you don't understand why

I'm so very sorry for your pain, Mr Eko.

There's no telling what happened. You have to trust that it's really just an issue that *she* is having, and nothing to do with you.

I'm so sorry.

Re: Friends who need help

Oh no. Social Workers have very clear ethical boundaries with their client relationships. Your friend could be facing penalties up to revocation of her license if she doesn't maintain that...

Re: Were We Snubbed at StepFiL's Funeral?

Well, how would you feel about reaching out to them and not expecting a response? That's what I'd do. I frequently send "thinking of you" texts hoping to brighten someone's day and leave it there,...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

Just ftr (because it would be unfair of me to not clarify) my SM wasn't stubborn. The incident I relayed was completely uncharacteristic of her. :) My SM was a wonderful woman and I loved her...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

When I was a kid, I was pretty good about being in the clean plate club. But once my SM made mashed sweet potatoes and I wouldn't eat them; sweet potatoes gross me out. It was out of character for...

Late 30's and she acts like this? Wow. If this is how she acts when you have never given her an indication that you wanted to put that "Best Friend" label on her, imagine how territorial she would...

Re: Yeast challange

Sounds good, but I'm kind of confused about how one runs out of olive oil. :D:p (It's a staple in my house; I usually restock when I reach the halfway point of the bottle)

Do you have a neighbor...

Re: How can I help my boyfriend without doing everything for him all the time?

I hope he did this with the consent of his doctor. I agree that sometimes depression medications (with emphasis on the SOMETIMES) are meant for short term, and the work of climbing out of the hole...

Four of them out! Wonderful news! It must be so hard to be patient.

And if anyone could build a tiny submarine in 8 hours, it would be Elon Musk (or rather, his engineers). I do admire his...
