Re: weird friendship situation

Late 30's and she acts like this? Wow. If this is how she acts when you have never given her an indication that you wanted to put that "Best Friend" label on her, imagine how territorial she would...

Re: Yeast challange

Sounds good, but I'm kind of confused about how one runs out of olive oil. :D:p (It's a staple in my house; I usually restock when I reach the halfway point of the bottle)

Do you have a neighbor...

Re: what shoes to get

Those will probably work!

I was thinking about something like this: http://us.asos.com/asos/asos-design-linton-square-toe-ballet-flats/prd/9586008

Re: Cold shoulder - wide or skinny - what the &$%* is going on with clothes?

*bursts into tears at the thought*

Oh Jem, I'm so sorry for your loss! :(

Re: How can I help my boyfriend without doing everything for him all the time?

I hope he did this with the consent of his doctor. I agree that sometimes depression medications (with emphasis on the SOMETIMES) are meant for short term, and the work of climbing out of the hole...

Re: Thai children stuck in the cave

Four of them out! Wonderful news! It must be so hard to be patient.

And if anyone could build a tiny submarine in 8 hours, it would be Elon Musk (or rather, his engineers). I do admire his...

Re: meat smokers

The second question is - how much are you willing to spend? :)

The problem is maybe that I know too much (but not enough). LOL. I bought my DH his first smoker (electric, I think), thinking...

Re: July 4th 2018

Burn ban in effect in our area. No firecrackers in our yard. We may go to the local fireworks show if it won't be too hot to sit outside.

Re: meat smokers

My DH has 5 smokers. You know, Texas and all (plus it's sort of a hobby of his). One of them is custom built, and a couple others of them are customized by him. Most use wood but one uses pellets....

Re: decluttering

A charity I support was asking for donations for a fundraising garage sale that they were having. In my mind I could bring a moving van full of stuff  but in reality with limited time...

Re: My colleagues partner thinks hes having an affair with me

Ugh, I'm sorry. :( Other women's insecurities have made themselves your problem.

Is there any way to sort of befriend these women? Are there company picnics or any way for you to get to know...

Re: what shoes to get

Flats would work fine with a sheath dress! I'd do something with an ankle strap instead of a Mary Jane, but I think a solid color Mary Jane would work too. :)

Re: brand discussions

Well, I think it's okay to mention "I saw an article in X magazine" but I don't think we should "sell" it, like "Y'all ought to pick up this month's copy of X magazine."

Now that we have less...

Re: How can I help my boyfriend without doing everything for him all the time?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say you "do a lot" for him. You mean emotionally? Or financially?

I don't think there's anything wrong with paying *sometimes* when...

Re: Is it normal for an ex-wife and a new wife to bond?

Well, I don't think it's common, but I also don't think it's as bad of a thing as you do. My sister was introduced (in a "y'all should date" way) to her now-husband by a friend who was in the...

Re: I think my mom might be jealous of my new relationship

That does stink for you, but there's really nothing you can do to change that. :( Your mom seems pretty needy.

Just keep repeating your mantra to yourself "I am not responsible for my mother's...

Re: The other end of the mommy wars!

Exactly.

I was caught up in the Mommy Wars too - not that I ever felt the need to argue about it, but I had a lot of friends (and sisters, LOL) who were openly disgusted with me for not returning...

Re: no friends IRL

snafu, do you text a lot? I find that reaching out with a text every so often will eventually end up with plans to meet for lunch or try that new gelato place etc.

About once per month I go...

Re: Were We Snubbed at StepFiL's Funeral?

I'm sorry for your loss. :(

My thought is that death and funerals bring out so much unintentionally poor behavior from people. Nobody is really thinking clearly at the time, and it is very easy...

RIP Kate Spade

Way back in 2000, I was an overwhelmed, frumpy feeling mom of two young kids in a new town. I remember that I was, fresh out of the med school poverty years, wearing ill-fitting, too big and...

Re: Ditch or no?

It's always a good idea to not stoop. :)

Now, the question is... can you let it go? I get stuck sometimes on all of the things I wish I had said to make my point rather than just letting it...
