Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

Thanks everyone, for letting me vent here. I will continue to work through this with a therapist. The thing is that I can't give enough details to really explain my relationship with my DS. The...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

Thanks, Lucy.

I do plan to hold off until I talk to the therapist again, at least. I'm not planning to "fight" about this. If that is how my post came off, I need to clarify. I just want to simply...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

It's gone from bad to worse. I have finally gone to see a therapist over this because I can't sleep at night, and yes I was presented with an awful revelation since my last posting, that now may very...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

So it continues with my DIL. She continues to post negativity on FB and feels she will get support and sympathy and does seem to get some. I absolutely try to pretend I don't see it. I'd love to...

Re: When do you stop supporting "the dream."

It is frustrating as a parent to see your grown child do this, whether you offer any financial support, or not. My DS works hard, does not usually quit his jobs, but was fired from 3 different ones...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

KayKay,

Thanks for clarifying. I truly hope that someday my grandchildren will look back with the same affection for their step-mother. As I have said many times, she has many great qualities, but...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

KayKay,

She seems more stubborn than your SM so far. The kids have thrown up when she forces them to eat. She says they are faking being sick and making themselves throw up somehow. I...

Re: Here we go again with the step mother to be

And so the latest update...she is too strict with the children and for the most part I just shut up and stay out of it, but secretly cry for my grandbabies, who are by no means perfectly behaved...

Re: Cold shoulder - wide or skinny - what the &$%* is going on with clothes?

I guess I'm behind the times! I just got three "cold shoulders" shirts. My H informed he does not like them and prefers a regular tank top. I want to force him to like them since I bought them, ha...

Re: grandson not eating well

I came upon this thread which is a few years old and though I will add to it with the current issue.

My grandkids are going through battles with their step-mother about what they eat and it does...

Re: The other end of the mommy wars!

I was a SAHM for most of the years I was married to my ex-H. I did not go to college until it became evident that our M was not going well and I wanted a different plan. I do not regret that I was...

Re: Is it normal for an ex-wife and a new wife to bond?

I would say it is not common, but not that rare for the ex and new wife to be friends. But I think you are starting to see this may be more like a three way thing, and your brother, whom you know to...

Re: DNA testing

Yes, my DH and I recently did it. I did understand about the DNA in the database thing. That is kind of unnerving but I thought about it and figured well if we do something criminal they'll find us...

Re: RIP Kate Spade

Sad that someone so young with seemingly so much to live for did this.

Ironically, I never heard of her before this past Christmas. I did not know what to get my DS's girlfriend (now wife) for...

Re: Hawaii volcanoes

My H and I were vacationing there a couple of months ago and we actually took a helicopter ride over that volcano and got excellent pictures and video. I'm glad we went when we did, before all this....

Re: Transitioning to "adult" children!

None of my adult children have ever lived with me, but as I have posted elsewhere, my youngest was in a situation where he was not properly paying his bills and "needing a lot of help" from me to...

Re: Found out I have a new cousin!

Thanks for sharing that, Lucy! Like I said, obviously if there is to be any "relationship" with my Aunt, my Aunt would have to decide that. She is up in her 80s now and I know this "young" (62 years...

Found out I have a new cousin!

I've never really been into studying ancestry, have not really cared to know where I came from. But you can get a DNA kit that will tell you your heritage and may also tell you who your close...

Re: National School Walkout

I agree with you, KayKay, on this. I have read some responses that I agree with, instead of walking out, how about making a special point trying to be nicer to fellow students who feel left out or...
