I agree, but I don't think she's been able to see someone who knows about gout. When she's asked various doctors, etc... according to mom the responses have been some variation of "there's a diet for gout?"

Mayo clinic handouts/on-line articles have been more useful.


Could you ask a dietitian there if ostrich is allowed? Well, is ostrich meat common? (I've had ostrich before, but people here look at me like I'm nuts. I'm going to try several calling several dietitians next week - but as ostrich isn't common, I doubt they'll know)
