Re: I am......

Anns - count yourself lucky - as long as the doctor says your good -wonderful

(I had 12-14 hour bouts of "morning" sickness)

btw - just wondering - in the UK what do doctors do for moms when the RH factors of the parents don't match?

Here in "The States" they used to give shots.

I know I should think myself lucky, particularly as I am phobic about being sick! With DS I had morning sickness, I dealt with it because it was part of being pregnant (though I appreciate it was nothing compared to some people who end up hospitalised on intravenous fluids). With DD I had strong nausea.

However, I M/C over four years ago and with that I'd had nausea for the first few days then was delighted when it stopped. Not realising of course that it had stopped because of the M/C. Hence my being neurotic now. I do get braxton hicks sensations have done from being about six weeks pregnant so that together with seeing baby on the scan reassured me. Though I won't completely relax until baby is much more developed and then arrives safely.

I believe the same procedures occur in the UK. Luckily we haven't had that experience. Although DH's mother was RH- to his father's RH+. I don't know what happened with the first two kids being born. I imagine after the eldest was born they didn't do anything (they give the mother shots at that point usually don't they?). Then the second was born prematurely, then allegedly when pregnant with DH the Drs realised there were complications due to the RH factors and DH was born prematurely and very poorly. He had to receive a full blood transfusion from his father. (I say allegedly as his P's had unfortunately always been very economical with the truth about DH's past and we may never know the full ins and outs of the family medical history.)

Re: I am......

Yes, thanks Kaykay!

First bout of heartburn yesterday! I'm looking VERY big, the uterus is positioned quite high! Went to see the consultant last week (always initially placed under consultant care, I always thought because I was short, but infact it's because I am asthmatic!). However, he has discharged me back to mid-wife led care, unless she has any cause for concern or I become overdue!

Consultant scanned me again and baby was moving about and waving frantically! I didn't get to see it, but DH did!

Re: I am......

Thankyou!

21 weeks. Midwife visit yesterday. Heartbeat sounding good! Starting to see my belly twitch when baby moves.

Full of cold at the moment so feeling a bit sorry for myself in that respect because the kids are off school and I don't feel well enough to take them out.
