Coffee cake

Lol, i've just learned that "coffee" cake generally doesn't have coffee in it.
Just thought i'd share!

(My goodness, would i be disapointed if a cake bought from a cafe - as coffee cake - didn't have coffee in it!)

Re: Coffee cake

It traditionally was a breakfast cake or sweet bread to have with one's morning cup of coffee!

But I think somewhere along the line there was an protest and most coffee cakes that I know do contain coffee!

Coffee has now become my word of the day that the more I say it the weirder it sounds!

Re: Coffee cake

Hehe. This reminds me of YDS-- after eating some Monkey bread, he got very sad. He thought there might be monkeys in it.

Monkey bread is a pull-apart baked good, kind of like sticky buns/cinnamon rolls.
