Smile 2015 Healthy Routine ....whats yours??

Im really unfit but on the 1st of Jan I started with a 45mins walk daily,and today I have ramped it up to 2 x 50 min walks daily which is about 3-4 kms per walk. I have also cut out desserts, takeaways,sugar. If I want something sweet I eat a bit of fruit instead ( I havent cheated yet lol), and drink heaps more water..

Im lucky that my hubby is really into fitness as he was an ex pro sportsman back in the day for his country (Not here)....and our kids love to play soccer etc...how about you guys??

I'm trying to establish a routine .... I'd like to find an exercise class that fits my schedule, or set up a swimming routine.

I work out twice a week with weights for about a half hour each time. Once a week I pop in an aerobic DVD and move to that for about 30 minutes.

As far as food goes... I just watch what I eat. I still have some junk (ie... potato chips). A cup of soda with dinner. Usually I drink water.

Ive been so good, Ive had no desserts,biscuits, takeaways, sugar or any junk food since 1st Jan, Ive kept up my 1hr brisk walking a day, and I have lost 3kg since 1st Jan, its peeling off!!.......Im a junk food junkie.....Im better not to have any otherwise I binge. I have also been drinking 1600mls water a day. I fill my water bottle and put it in the fridge to go cold then drink when needed,it works!!. I find I consume the whole 800ml bottle after coming back from walking, its a trick Ive discovered I can make my body do,before I would hardly drink any.

Have you seen a dietician yet? I went to one a few years ago. Lots of good info.

Hi no I havent seen a dietitian, but I thought cutting out the rubbish would be an obvious one and portion control, my plates are much smaller now. We eat well anyway with lots of salads,meat,veges etc anyway so I will just keep to that. Im going to try to keep going!!

Hah, sounds like you are doing well.

I slacked off big time around Xmas and feel bad for it. Whenever I take time off, I get out of my routine.

When I'm working, I cycle 25km a day five days a week getting two and from work. When I'm on holidays, I maybe go on a hike or two but often maintain the same monster eating patterns as when I'm cycling regularly. Oops.

Suffice it to say my pants are snug and I'm a little slower on my bike than I was in December Too much shortbread! (who am I kidding, it was worth it.)

I'm back at it though.

I'm getting a vitamin issue taken care of, and next week I plan to start doing yoga 2-3 times per week

Snafu, would love to know how the yoga is going, please can you update us in a couple of weeks?

I try to walk 5 km per day (very rugged where i live, apparently hiking trails in the US are generally much more gentle, lol). Ha ha, it is a bit hot at present though.

I've been hitting the gym at 5:30 AM 3 days a week since November. I fell off the low-carb wagon, but i hope to get back to it. Adding weight training to the cardio has been so good for me! I am finally seeing some results.
