Re: My pet

I got a new pet, today.

I was feeling rather sad so I sat down on the sofa in the basement to pray. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes. There-- right there-- on the floor in front of me was a tiny mouse, very happily snuffling through the carpet looking for crumbs. I was stunned for a moment. Then I quietly got up, retrieved a glass jar, and quietly put it over the mouse.

DD is watching it now. It seems happy to keep rummaging in the same spot. I wonder what my other basement dweller left for the little mouse?

And what will I do with it later?

Re: My pet

Know anyone with a snake?

Oh, I'm completely kidding!! I'm not sure if mice caught from the wild would be a good option for a pet because of the potential that it carries a disease though. Does DD have a science teacher who might want it for a class pet?

Re: My pet

Is it a "baby"?

If not I'd be concerned that there's something wrong with it - it should have reacted.

(we had lots of pet mice as kids & a temporary wild pet mouse too)

Re: My pet

I just found an armadillo burrow in my yard. So apparently I have a pet I didn't know about too!

Re: My pet

My Rat Terrier has a growth on its rear leg - about 1/2 inch round. Took her to the vet yesterday after work thinking it was a Mast tumor (not good - cancer). Vet took some scrapings and made a quick determination that it wasn't. It was some kind of - don't recall the words he used, skin issue. Will be taking her back Monday to have it removed. Good thing. I would've hated to put her to sleep had it been cancerous. She's pretty healthy for a 14 year old dog.

Re: My pet

Oh wow, K2L. I'm glad for the good news. I know that must have been a worrisome time waiting for it.

Re: My pet

She had it removed yesterday. She was a little woozy from the anesthetic most of the evening, but all is well. She was her usual self this morning when I got up.
