Question Please, help me to make a decision

Hi, everybody! Several days ago, my husband and I returned from <snip>, the capital city of <snip>. We paid our first visit to the reproductive clinic <remove name>. We chose this clinic because we have found loads of positive feedbacks about in the net.
However, the things turned to be quite different when we visited the clinic by ourselves. Firstly, itís difficult to call <remove name> a clinic because it doesnít look presentable. It is situated in a small private mansion. Can a respectable medical establishment be located in private house??? Of course, not!!!! As the building where the clinic is situated is tiny, its halls are always overcrowded. Every time we visited the clinic, it was always overcrowded: a large queue near the reception desk, large queues near the doctorís offices and treatment rooms!!! If this clinic has so many patients, why donít they open other agencies???
The clinic isnít a selective one. They deal with everybody. When we were sitting and waiting our queue to consult a GP in the clinic, we saw people of various nationalities. Some of them were behaving rather weird. We became witnesses of small conflict, when a dark-skinned man told one guy that he was gazing at his wife!!!! I thought that they were going to fight!!!!
The atmosphere in the clinic is very noisy. I saw loads of couples with small children. Some of them are crying, and it causes an additional discomfort.
Some words about the doctorsÖ When I met the doctor in charge of our program, I noticed that she was extremely tired. She seemed to be a good specialist, but she spoke with us very formally. When I tried to get some additional details, she looked at me angrily, so I decided not to do it.
I think doctors in <remove name> are too busy and tired. The clinic owners should take more care of their employees if they want to attract more clients.
Of course, we havenít signed up the contract and decided to think everything thoroughly. Iím just curious to know if the clinic has so many patients; can it serve all its clients properly??? Is there anyone here who has contacted it or any other <snip> clinics??? Please share your experience.

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

Welcome, Mickey2016. I edited your post to remove identifying information. Although I do not think your post is spam, it might attract spammers.

And my reply doesn't have anything to do with the location or the name of the business.

If you do not trust the doctors, if you are not comfortable with the staff or the situation, do not sign a contract and do not do business with them. Follow your gut and look for a different doctor that you do trust.

Good luck!

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

Hi, Lucy! I decided to post here because I need some help in making the decision. I know that Iím the one to make a decisionÖ But sometimes you may meet a person who is able to give you some useful tips and clues how to act. I really donít know what to do. From the one hand, this clinic has rather good specialists. I know this cause I talked with their several former patients and they gave rather favorable feedbacks. On the other hand, I was there and saw everything with my own eyes. I simply donít know what to doÖ

Trust your own eyes. You will never regret following your instincts. You will most certainly regret ignoring them.

Surely there are other options? Research them.

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

Your decision is yours and your husband's. It seems like you have learned to not believe everything you have read on the internet.

It doesn't matter if the clinic is the best one in the world. If you have misgivings about it, it isn't for you.

Do you not have a GP or an OB/GYN of your own? Have you asked for their recommendations?

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

I used to speak with several women on fertility forum before going there. They shared their life experience with me about getting treatment in this clinic. Both of them told me that the clinic was ok. One of them shared a photo of her baby son conceived with the help of a donor egg. It was so touching. We also liked the way the clinicís manager talked with us. When we came to the country, we were supplied with all necessary things.. I write all this because Iím still hesitating.
P.S. Yesterday, we received a phone call from the clinic. We gave them our feedback about our first visit. They apologized and promised to fix everything if we come for the second time to meet them.

What does your GP or OB/GYN think?

I'm another person who agrees with trusting your gut instincts.

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

I'd check with you OB/Gny

I don't know if the BBB covers this type of thing - you could always check

Re: Please, help me to make a decision

Iím British, but my husband is from Germany. At present, we live in Germany. Egg donation is forbidden in there, so we have to try our somewhere abroad. We chose Ukraine cause this country is very popular among European infertile couples. The laws of this country allow ED. According to the German laws, my hubby and I will be considered the childís parents if I come to Germany and give birth to our child there. My gyny doesnít say anything special. She has just recommended me to find a good clinic somewhere abroadÖ
