Re: Not to be believed...

Its a minor setback. I know. But you know, its so hard to watch and hold a little dog while its having seizures. I didn't know why, and how to stop it.

For awhile we didn't know until the tox screen came back if we were responsible for the seizures(we weren't, THANK YOU GOD!) because that would've of def been an 'issue'

Thanks for the congrats..its seems rather surreal.

My son said for about five minutes that his little girl looked EXACTLY like me! I was thrilled. But I think C-section babies kinda 'morph' while their faces relax after being born.

I have pictures and everything already!

I am a little biased..I didn't even get to see her yesterday because my whole day was spent trying to take care of this little dog. I know selfish, eh?

You may have missed out on seeing her yesterday but at least the reason was you were doing something for her - in a round about way!

Makes the time with her all the more enjoyable though eh?

I don't think it was biased, bittersweet maybe. Of course you wanted to see the new baby, but the dog needed immediate attention.

Better days ahead...grandma

Re: Not to be believed...

Well, I saw my son and DIL at the house today, and brought the surviving puppy back to them.

They are at peace with their decision, or at least didn't make me feel the least bit bad about my part in it. I was going to tell them about it, but with them bringing the baby home, it wasn't the right place, right time.

The baby girl is still gorgeous, of course!

The other dog is handling it fairly well, considering they were kennel mates and hung out all the time together. I think he knows and understands in a canine way. It seems he understands the other dog was sick and nothing could be done. Or maybe he wanted to be an only dog?

The dog met the baby and he was so sweet and gently, giving her gentle licks on her head. It was cute.

That's really sad and I'm sorry to see you were put in that situation. The right decision was made though.

What a sad story. You honestly did more than alot of people would have done. How awful that would should have been a joyous time was affected in this way

Re: Not to be believed...

Wow, talk about stress !!! I think you handled it well. I didn't even know there was a dogie heimlich maneuver ?? Wow, it seems to me that you stayed very level headed throughout the whole ordeal. WTG
Congrats on the baby ! What a wonderful thing !!
