I quit! (stories)

Anyone have interesting stories?

Back in the dark ages I quit my fast food restaurant job...when I tried to turn in a uniform, they refused as they didn't have a record of me having it

I didn't want it, so... one night after the restaurant closed I ran the extra uniform up the flagpole (with a hat)- where it was found in the morning.

I heard about it from friends who still worked there...
once burned, twice shy

He who ignores history is condemed to repeat it!
(it also means you weren't smart enough to learn from your mistakes )

Re: I quit! (stories)

Decided to take on a job at a penneys a bit far away - but I love the smell of new clothes...so I'll give it a go. I am certain I will just be putting the item in bags and counting change *this was sort of before credit cards.

find out I am to begin in the shoe dept.

My first customer was a definite 8-1/2 wide. she wanted me to cram her foot into 7B. I took the shoes to the manager...starting to almost cry...and handed him the shoes saying "I can't"

I walked out and drove home.

...land of the free. kind of...maybe...not so much.

Re: I quit! (stories)

Use to work as an office admin for 1.5 years to a controlling boss. He acknowledged I was one of his best employees and was eager to learn. Never gave me any extra work even when I ask. Did the basics of faxing, invoicing, answering phone, cleaning, and etc. Gets boring. Towards the end, I decided to quit because I wasn't going anywhere.
6 months later, the company was raid by FBI for fraud. Employees that worked there at the time were investigated and went to court.
Glad I left!
