Re: Cake Photos

Sorry, I missed that before, Brownie. I think what inspires me is to test myself to see if I can do it, and then the happiness when I feel I did or came close to it. I tend to collect hobbies. I see something that looks like fun, I try it, never get too good at it, get frustrated, and quit. While I'm not 100% happy with any of these cakes (I've been working on not pointing out the gazillion flaws I see - well, DH elbowing me when I open my mouth helps, too!), I can see and feel that I'm improving as I go - which motivates me to keep going and keep trying new techniques.

Re: Cake Photos

This was my FIL's birthday cake. He is a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan. The hat was chocolate cake covered in vanilla fondant with a fondant bill and emblem. The football was strawberry cake covered in chocolate fondant (so good - like a chocolate covered strawberry!), and vanilla fondant laces. DH drew the play on the board

Re: Cake Photos

Your cake is totally impressive....So simple yet so to the point! Great job!

I have a sister that was a steadfast Vikings fan during the Bud Grant/Fran Tarkington years. She defected to the Packers...Now, because of Farve, she's back to the Vikings.

How did Sunday's game go over with your Packer's fans?

Yikes...I think this is off topic!
