strawberries

my strawberries are growing well, but the amount/frequency of rain has caused a lot to rot ( - I sound like Dr. Seuss)

between the rain and slugs I think I've thrown over half the ripe berries away (I've got to find some cheap beer for the slugs)

Re: strawberries

Is there a way you can put copper tape around the berries? We did a slight raised bed in our garden with copper tape on the boards all the way around--snails and slugs cannot bear to cross it, something about the conductivity of the tape on their skins or something. It has helped a lot.

Copper tape is kind of expensive but will last for several seasons and it has worked great for us.
