bad daughter reprise

I know (in my head, but not in my heart) that I'm not a bad daughter, I'm human.


I want to "resign" as being the responsible adult "child" for when things go "south" for DM....and DH has done a lot when DM has ended up needing the ER.


I'm fed up with "dueling" parts of DM's care team (at the hospital) wanting different things in order for DM to be released. The constant merry-go-round of

-she's ready to go home vs she's not

-she's being released today vs she's not

-she's needs rehab vs she doesn't


I'm just f'in' sick of it

...and then there's DM's expectations/needs

I'm sorry, snafu. Being stuck in the middle of all of this is hard.

I think part of my current issues is related to I'm currently working both a full time and a part time job. There's only so much of me to go around.

DM needs more help than I'm available to give....much less I'm not going to take on more. My time and energy just aren't enough to meet her needs (plus I'm having some issues of my own)

I have some guilt for telling mom she needs to hire someone, however I know I need to take care of myself first.

DM doesn't want to pay for help.... I've told her she needs to get something in place and that I'm not doing it after August.

She got somebody (happy dance)


She's texted me about my birthday

(Normally, she only contacts me for errands/demands)


I may get my mom "back". I want to spend time enjoying being with my mom, not just being her gofer.
