DM not doing well
My DM isn't doing well -hasn't since she fell the beginning of this year (while living with me & my DH).
Since moving to a senior living community she's been hospitalized twice for retaining fluid (last time was 3 weeks ago- been out for 2 weeks). She's been lethargic, not hungry, etc. and went back in today (fluid is not the problem this time) Last time she went in I didn't notify my sibs as DM was texting me a lot and we knew the medical personnel (kidney) just needed to take off the fluid. (DM was put out when I finally told her I didn't tell anyone) This time, I let everyone know as she's in the heart unit. sigh

I'm to the point of .... well .... this is the 4th time this year she's been in the hospital
1) broken collar bone - Feb. (DH took her- I was at work) 2) retaining fluid -This summer (DH took her - I wasn't home) 3) retaining fluid - 3 weeks ago (her friend took her, DH later joined her waiting- I was at work) 4) unknown issue(s) -today (DH took her- I was at work) Her quality of life has been abysmal for at least a month - if not longer.

Turns out a med change was the issue, so now they're trying something different.
She's no better, but not any worse either.

Uh....she's still not gone home. 😟
Had a pacemaker put in. She's refusing to go to rehab Dr's refusing to release her unless I can stay home with her (24/7) until she's better. I can stay with her for 24-48 hours, but that's not long enough.

If DM needs rehab, she has to go. If she needs 24/7 care and wants to be at home, she needs to arrange home health care. She doesn't have the right, nor the doctor, to demand that *you* stay home with her 24/7. You have your own family to worry about and going to work is part of that obligation. Of course, you'll do what you can, but you cannot do the impossible. I'm sorry she's being so difficult, snafu. (((hugs)))

Mom went to rehab - hopefully she won't be there more than a week (drs thought 2 weeks)
