Re: Have your ILs ever threatened you with grandparent's rights?

Welcome peace!

I'm so sorry to hear that about your IL's. Why are they doing that?

Thanks for the welcome KayKay.

DH was forced to make the difficult decision to sever all ties with his parents due to their abusive and menacing behaviors.

I'm sorry. I understand. That's very painful, but absolutely necessary at times. I have friends in the same exact boat. You have to do what's best for the kids.

I hope you don't live somewhere where they'll actually get rights/visitation.

Re: Have your ILs ever threatened you with grandparent's rights?

Our state is typically quite permissive when it comes to third party visitation lawsuits. Within the two plus years of litigation, quite a bit of overwhelming evidence has surfaced in our favor. We shall see what transpires next. Once the trial court ruling is made, surely the appeals court will be next.

KayKay, I would also like to add that I do hope your friends are fairing well throughout their legal battle. I feel for them and pray they live within the more parent friendly states as far as the statutes go regarding this particular matter. Please pass along my regards and grand wishes for a peaceful solution!
