How's everyone's families doing?

Right now my immediate family & extended family are fine.

DS has asthma, which puts him in a risk category. Right now he won't even go for a walk with me.

ODS and DD have asthma. DD rides her bike a few days a week and continues to do her karate. ODS goes out to the front lawn or back yard.

Most of my siblings and mother are very high risk. We drove to see DM and bring her some take-out last week, but stayed outside and kept our distance.

Ha! My asocial, introvert family is well prepared for this. None of our lives have changed terribly much.

kaykay, how's your brother and his family doing?

Last I heard from him was March 20th. He has to go in to work (he's a doctor). He's also past retirement age. He was okay as of that time, observing good medical practice guidelines to prevent contamination. I texted him last night to check in and he hasn't responded yet.

He's in the New York area, isn't he?

Yup. He lives in Queens and works in Manhattan.

DS does not go outside, he has asthma and doesn't want to take the risk - even though he's part of Gen Z (the group that ignored corona warnings and went on spring break anyway)


DSD will not be coming home for Easter, I'm both she's safe, but we won't see her



Kaykay - how is your DH? If he having to do shifts/lung x-rays?

DH actually switched jobs last January to get out of hospital-based radiology and in to clinic-based radiology (i.e. no more call!). He works from home most days, and goes in to clinics two to three times per week. Since the coronavirus started ramping up in the beginning of March, he has worked from home all days except two. So he's okay. The last time he went in to the clinic, he picked up his N95 mask, and wears it to run errands now.

I heard from my brother this morning. He's okay.
