I have the opposite problem - my eyebrows are too thin.

Re: makeover

when you get makeup do you go to the makeup counter in a department store OR a store that only sells makeup?

(pros & cons of each)

Re: makeover

I do a little of both, plus add in drug store cosmetics. I have one product that I like from a cosmetic counter (a concealer). I have a few products that I buy from makeup stores (primers, eye shadow palettes, brushes). And I have a few things that I found that the cheap stuff works just as well for me (foundations, lip products, mascaras). It's really all just trial and error.

I used to buy exclusively at makeup counters, but as I aged I found that the counter salesgirls wanted to sell me a look that THEY liked but that I didn't. Plus my skin changed and so did the product lines. That makeup is just too expensive (IMO) to experiment.

I do my experimenting with the cheap drug store stuff to see if something would work for me, and I may move to a more expensive brand if it does. Sometimes the more expensive brands aren't an improvement.

I like the makeup stores because you can compare products side by side. I especially like doing that online, where I can read reviews from other people and decide which of the products I want to take a chance on.

Mostly I just buy what my daughter tells me that I need. LOL.

Re: makeover

cough, cough .... I asked one of my students (who's dream job is to work in a makeup store .... she'd be really good) what she'd recommend for a woman my age

she suggested a makeup made from Minerals that you Barely feel

and as I'm planning on going slowly (start with the eyes) be sure to use eye shadow primer

Re: makeover

Mineral make-ups is the best way to go. Dermatologists recommends to use it because itís free of chemicals and additives which can cause skin irritations.

Re: makeover

Well....I just got 5" cut off my hair ....and have a bob cut

I wanted to go shorter, but my hairdresser knows me well and brought up all the stuff I'd have to do to style it. She told me I could always go shorter, but once its cut it can't be changed.

Re: makeover

😁 my hairdresser took before and after pics

DH and DSD (via text) thought it looked cute, DM liked it too.

DS said it was nice

I'm thinking about having some white streaks with lavender tint put in too
