Are you going to replace it?

Re: rains=pours

planning on it, have to get the stump removed first ; and research replacement trees (DH does not want one that gets taller than 20' max, nor silver maples), plus I think its the wrong time of year to be planting

We're looking for an umbrella shaped tree, I'd prefer something with non- green leaves, and something that will provide shade, but stand the test of time.

Re: rains=pours

stump removal =

company 1
very basic = $90 (snafu = )
basic + = $180

company 2
basic = $950 (snafu = )
nice = $1100
nice + = $1300

I've yet to hear from companies 3 & 4

Re: rains=pours

I went with company 3 - who did company 1's basic job (removal & cleanup) for $75.

-then our neighbors used them too

but its "raining/pouring" again

- dog is sick
- deck needs replacing
- garage door repairman is coming
- plummer just left (one issue is fixed temp.; but will require about a min of $1,000 to fix...but it can wait) - we'd had him scheduled for two things, then last night something else went out (at least we already had him scheduled)

- I need new glasses
- we still have an ant problem

Re: rains=pours

oh yeah - with all the "rain" (cough, cough) we've been getting we're going to have to hold off on getting a new tree (and no tree has = higher power bills as we no longer have shade for the last 8 hours of the day)

Re: rains=pours

What kind did you get? I really, really, really want one of those French Door refrigerators. My side by side doesn't fit my party trays.

Re: rains=pours

we got what would fit in the fridge bay in the kitchen - a side by side -niether DH not I like the bottom freezer thing, and the only top freezers they had were smaller & didn't have an external ice dispenser

this one has a water filter for the ice maker/cold water dispenser (water minerals in our area increase your chances of getting kidney stones)

Re: rains=pours

with the winds we've been having I've come to realize that the tree self-destructing this summer have have been a blessing in disguise - I was home when it happend & there was no damage to the house.

If it happened now, there's a chance that no one would have been home & with the wind patterns it may have hit the house (we would have been paying to heat the great outdoors if a window'd been hit & no one was home)
