Re: Wisdom teeth

I have had mine out. Both my kids had theirs out. My experience (back in the early 80's) was horrible. My kids' were fine. They sailed through it and I didn't even get any good (loopy, drugged up) blackmail material from it.

DD had hers done by her dentist because hers weren't impacted really badly. She was alert and asking intelligent questions throughout. It literally took the dentist about 30 seconds to get all four of hers out, and she was able to eat solid (albeit very soft) foods right away. She was up and giving a speech (she was president of something) the next evening.

DS had four impacted (one dangerously close to a nerve) so we had to have it done at a surgical center by an oral surgeon. He was a little more swollen than DD, but was fine within a couple of days. He too was able to eat soft, solid foods within a few hours of the procedure.
