History of this forum.

New members might be curious about how a forum gets started.

This one has an interesting history. It began at a math site, called Online Conversions. One of it's regular members posted a question about a difficult in-law situation on their general forum, and before you know it, they were flooded with new members who read "conversion forum" as "conversation forum."

The site grew very quickly and then became a little unwieldy. So, the Administrator decided to create a new sister site for the relationship questions -- this one!

He is slowly closing threads there and referring posters here. Some of the threads then get regenerated here, or conversations may have been carried over from there as a result of the referrals.

Don't let that discourage you from joining in. All new members are welcome, regardless of how they came to be here. If you have something to add to a topic, feel free to do so. I am sure your insights would be appreciated. And don't be afraid to ask a question if you think you've missed something. Any member would be glad to fill you in.

See you on the boards!

that is exactly how I found this forum; and I sure did feel stupid about mis-reading the "conversion" title. Glad I became a member here, so all worked out fine!

I don't think anyone could have felt sillier than me.

I am just a big math geek and computer nerd. So I just sit around scratching my head about why anyone would want my advice on their mother-in-law problems.

Re: History of this forum.

I had actually done a search on "mother in-law from hell" & couldn't understand why I ended up at a conversion forum. A day or two later after I "found" the orginal forum everything was "moved" to friends & family.

Re: History of this forum.

I found it through conversion too - and then realized that there was relationship help too!
Stayed with it. Been absent through the years.
