anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

lols..
okay, ill try and be as honest as i can here
my body is a wreck atm. though i am 6ft2, i weigh an awful lot (15 and half stone), and it really really annoys me. i've had to throw so many clothes out just because of my weight, which for me was a terribly hard thing to do..
to make matters worst, my physical endurance is terrible.
playing bass for about 5 minutes results in really really bad aches all up my picking arm to my shoulder. so i'd hate to see what running/cycling or real exercise would do to me..

what i'd really like, is some specific advise in how to start getting fitter, and eventually become, "well shaped" as it were.

i also smoke, which i know really dosnt help. but im not interested in giving up just yet.

anyways, hope someone can help..

Re: anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

have you seen a dr.?

and how much is a stone? (the on-line conversions forum might be able to help) if you even put it into kilos I might be able to change it to pounds

I just bought the "Calories Counter Journal for Dummies"

You want to do it with me?

Re: anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

i've seen a doctor. he just said "go to the gym.." but to be honest, i cant drive, its not a short journey there by bus, and most of all, my sleep cycle is very very odd and im often up in the wrong time of day, so i wouldnt be able to go to the gym that much even if i wanted to.

yes id love to try that calories counter journal with you actually, sounds cool

and no i dont eat much fast food. the occasional "Subway" i adore. but most of dinners are made by my parents from real ingredients. and breakfast/lunch is normal cereal/sandwich... supersize me is very very eye opening to the dangers of fast food. i watched it a while back..

Re: anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

I went to a conversion site - IF I converted correctly, you're about 217 lb (pounds= lb for some reason - I've forgotten why)

by the chart in my book - that gives you a BMI of about 28; I've a BMI of 24

Do packages in the UK list serving sizes & calories per serving?

Re: anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

... according to the book people need to:

1) set realistic goals; so planning is necessary
2) eat correctly {think food groups/# of servings per day}
3) exercise {even limited is better than nothing}
4) become aware of what & when they are eating
-cutting calories can come later, if tracking/awareness of what you're eating doesn't help

does your little bro walk to school/a bus stop? How far is it? could you walk with him every day (& walk him home?)

The book has math formulas to calculate how many calories you need maintain your current weight based upon your weight, height, age, & gender; and amount of exercise you do. Cutting 250-500 calories a day should lead to a weight loss of 1/4-1/2 lb per week (.018-.035 stone)

Sooo... by the formulas I'll have to cut calories to 1077-1327 per day; you'd need to cut to 2074-2324 per day (if you want to check my figures, I'll post the formulas)

Re: anyone up for being my e-fitness-trainer?

I've got to set 3 realistic goals (sigh)...I've spent the week analyzing my habits - I'm not going to count calories yet

goal one

I will drink no more than one decaf. soda per day ( I combined decreasing soda & caffeene...oooo - can't spell, oh well )

goal two

I will eat at least 3 servings of fresh fruit/veggies per day.

I need help with goal three though ..... I need to exercise...suggestions?
