flabby upper arms

Any ideas that work on the upper flabby arms when overall there is no
extra weight anywhere else ( does anything work or are they just a
part of ageing ungracefully!

Re: flabby upper arms

You do not have to accept flabby arms! Definitely do arm workouts! Push ups are the absolute best way to tone them. Other weight bearing exercises are good, too, and necessary as you age.

Now, if only I could take my own advice.

Re: flabby upper arms

you (and I) need to do toning exercises to prevent those flabby "bingo" arms...

if you google/bing "arm toning exercise + video" you'll get some good ideas/suggestions

Re: flabby upper arms

On the upper arm, do you mean the muscle on the top (bicep) or underneath (tricep)? I'm guessing the tricep, you can notice when you wave your arm and there's flapping under there

My favorite exercise for this is to sit on the edge of the tub, palms at your sides gripping the tub edge (fingers pointing straight in front of you, not to the left or right). Now slide your bum just off the edge, lower yourself straight down, then raise yourself back up, but don't move yourself back so that you're sitting on the tub edge again. You don't actually sit your bum down on the tub's edge until you're done; sitting there in the beginning is just to get you started.

A very important point when you're lowering & raising your body is to keep your elbows pointing straight out behind you. Don't let your elbows jut out to the side.

Yes these are they alright ! I seemed to be doing a lot of waving this Christmas and realised
I had an extra arm on each side ((

I hope to make a start on firming them as the rest of me is reasonably fine!

Re: flabby upper arms

Madonna's trainer has her do 1000 of these: !! ( I would jut go for as many as possible.)

With feet shoulder-width apart, hold arms out in a T and rotate palms from -facing floor to ceiling.

I also read her trainer does not use weights over 3 pounds for arms.
