credit card/social security scam

If someone calls and says you've got outstanding credit card debt - for cards you didn't open -

1) don't believe them
2) hang up - don't answer if they call back

If they threaten you with the police/arrest unless you pay these debts

1) hang up
2) go to the police - talk to your local police department - as about an affidavit of forgery

WHAT EVERY YOU DO DON'T PAY THEM ANYTHING (OR GIVE BANK/CREDIT CARD INFO)

Re: credit card scam

Same thing if you get a call that your social security number (USA) has issues.

No one calls you if there are "issues". As the Social Security Admin is a Government Service - our taxes pay the employees.

You have to monitor your own credit/number - my DSD found out when she filed taxes one year that someone had already filed under her number - she did not get a call, but an official written notice.
