Plantar Faciitis...

It just kind of sneaks up on a person... Literally.

I looked up the age statistics for this and...

Time to get a brace. Hope it works. I'm on my feet most of my waking hours. I wonder how well nurses shoes will work? I need to find a really good pair of shoes with excellent arch supports.

Any suggestions?

Re: Plantar Faciitis...

Rockports or New Balance. You'll probably need the next size up to accommodate extra support.

I hope that works for you!

Re: Plantar Faciitis...

Are you able to get professionally made orthotics? - That's what both my DH and our friend who comes camping with SIL's family had to do. (friend is only in her 20's, but this was ongoing from childhood gymnastics).

Re: Plantar Faciitis...

Received my walking boot - can't wear it at work though. Also received my sleeping boot. Been doing a lot of stretches and other stuff according to the checklist. Looking for orthopedic shoes. The VA won't get them for me yet - I'll wait a month or so and go back.

Re: Plantar Faciitis...

bwhahaha ..... sigh ... I just got my sleeping boot the end of last week

I have an Achilles issue ... now

I've had professionally fitted foot orthotics since high school - if your insurance covers a podiatrist I'd recommend seeing one and following your dr's recommendations

Re: Plantar Faciitis...

Thank you... Yes, my insurance covered it. Doctors recommendation... I pretty much had to google what I can do about it. The Doc's advice was the same as WebMD and the nurse that saw me.

I don't know about the Plantar Faciitis, but I am sorry for your pain. The advice about "sizing up" is so good though. A friend told me to do that when I was complaining that a new pair of NB weren't as comfy as a previous pair. I did size up with the next pair and it made such a difference.
