Re: Letting go ... DS & me
I don't see DS much at this time, as he works & has night classes.
We're making a few plans to do things next school year, if he doesn't have other obligations (Cirque du Solie, an air show). I'm ready for him to go away to college.

That's a big step! What made you realize you were ready?

Re: Letting go ... DS & me
If I've done my job as a parent, DS should be able to move on to the next stage of his life.

Re: Letting go ... DS & me
I've told DS that any plans he makes for holidays are his plans, I've encouraged him to spend time with both my family and his dad's family.
Turns out, that according to him, his dad wants him to spend every holiday at his place (and has tried to talk DS into it)

Re: Letting go ... DS & me
I'm getting excited that DS gets to go to his dream college... but the reality for him is starting to sink in (he's said that he's realized that he won't be "living" at home again)

Re: Letting go ... DS & me
Sigh, DS is in an apartment style dorm and as I didn't know how much space the kitchen had, much less how the 4 guys are going to "share" the kitchen space/refrigerator I didn't get him any groceries. I gave him cash to get his first week's groceries.
Now that I'm home my anxiety is kicking in about no food in the apartment. My options are: - trust him - grab some stuff and drop it off tomorrow - load up this week and take it next weekend

Trust him. He will not starve if he has some money to eat.
In a week or so, send him a care package of his favorites. ![]() |
