I find this disturbing and crossing boundaries....

You both need to realize, that what was once, in your parents homes, now changes, to a culture you and your husband create, and if anything each of you do, disturbs the other, then it needs to be discussed and changed...within reason, and him and his mother, messaging each other is just not right.

and I would get rid of the counselor who suggested that it was ok to do such, and find another.
