Site guides

  • Home — an overview of the reference and its four main areas.
  • About — purpose, limits and editorial approach.
  • Reading principles — privacy, requests, boundaries, capacity and safety.
  • Site FAQ — audience, navigation, medical limits and accessibility.
  • Topics — detailed descriptions of every subject area.
  • Common questions — direct questions grouped by theme.
  • Full index — this compact list of all pages.
  • Page not found — a route back when a path does not exist.

Three ways to find a page

Use Topics when you want a description of each guide. Use Common questions when you can name the problem but not the section. Stay on this page when a compact grouped list is fastest.

Browse by situation

For a difficult conversation with a relative, begin with in-laws, adult family relationships or grandparents. If the same conflict repeats inside a couple, the partners guide focuses on patterns rather than blame.

For changing availability, distance or privacy between peers, use friendships. The dating guide covers pace, consent and early warning signs. Questions about sharing chores, meals and activities belong in home life.

If care work is affecting sleep, movement or physical comfort, read caring, rest and physical strain. For preparing questions and supporting somebody at an appointment, use general health conversations.

Read one page at a time

You do not need to apply every guide to one relationship. Choose the page closest to the current decision, note one question or sentence that feels useful, and leave the rest. Complex family histories are easier to approach when the next conversation has a clear subject.

Related links at the end of each guide offer a small next route rather than an endless reading list. You can return to this index whenever a situation changes category—for example, when an adult family disagreement becomes a caring question, or when a shared hobby exposes a friendship boundary.

Health questions that depend on symptoms, pregnancy, medicines, treatment or personal history need an appropriate clinician. Immediate danger and serious safeguarding concerns need qualified local or emergency help.
